Post-holiday detox

The overindulgence during holidays often leave your family with gastric ailments and diarrhoeal upsets .While it’s a great time for family activities and taking rest away from work, it can also be a time for increasing our body mass indexes.

Since nutrition and diet are important for concentrating at school or at work, it should get special attention after a holiday.

You might not have a wellness plan for yourself or your children; maybe you think you will face each day as it comes. A plan keeps you on track and without on it can be difficult once you get busy with all the extra-murals and school activities.

Try the following strategies to bounce back in action:

  1. Join a gym or get some exercise as a family - If you found you gained weight over the holidays then take those few kilograms off through joining a gym or a health club. Use the stairs more frequently instead of the elevator. Exercise even just 20 minutes several times per week.
  2. Alter your diet - Making a few changes to your normal diet are essential components to making sure your body stays intact. Add more fruit and vegetables to your afternoon and evening meals and drink more water. Drinking water in the morning upon waking can have amazing therapeutic effects for a multitude of health conditions ranging from physical pain, and diarrhea.
  3. Sleep early – the benefits derived from sleeping early are tremendous and can never be overlooked. Depriving oneself of sleep is detrimental to human health and affects performance at work and school. Adequate sleep is a key part of a healthy lifestyle and can benefit your heart, weight, mind and more.
Coming from a hectic holiday straight to a hectic workplace requires a strong mental and physical health attitude. Think of a wellness strategy, think healthily!
